Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 October 2026

Who we are

Unbranch is an Australian business based in Victoria, Australia, registered under ABN 20 166 775 356. This policy explains how we handle personal information across this website, the portal at portal.unbranch.ai, the documentation at docs.unbranch.ai, the Unbranch API and MCP connector, and our emails. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). For any privacy question, email info@unbranch.ai.

What we collect

Your account. Your name, email address and password (stored only as a hash), or your Google profile name, email and picture if you sign in with Google. Your optional onboarding answers (industry, role and job title), and your second-factor settings if you turn them on.

Your team’s work. What you and your team put into Unbranch: material you import, projects, proposals, decisions and their history, and anything your AI tools read or write through our MCP connector on your behalf. It can include information about other people, such as names in meeting notes; only put it in if you are allowed to share it with us.

Sign-in and security. The IP address and browser of each session, used to keep you signed in and to limit abuse, and the AI tools you have connected, until you disconnect them.

Billing. Your team’s plan, subscription status, billing email and any tax ID you give at checkout. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.

Product updates. If you subscribe on this website: your email address, when and where you subscribed, and your subscription status.

Email to us. Your address and the contents of your message.

We collect this from you, from your teammates (for example when they invite you or name you in their work), and from Google if you choose to sign in with it. You do not have to give us personal information, but without an email address we cannot create an account.

Why we use it

To run your account and your team’s workspace; to send the emails the product needs (sign-in codes, invitations, review requests and outcomes); to bill your team; to keep the service secure and prevent abuse; to answer your messages; to improve the service from how it is used; to meet our legal obligations; and to send product updates you asked for. We do not sell personal information, we do not use your team’s work to advertise to you, and we do not use it to train AI models.

AI features

When you or your connected AI tools import material, draft a proposal on the web, or check or submit a proposal, the text that request needs is sent through OpenRouter to an AI model. OpenRouter routes it to one of the providers serving the model your team uses; depending on the model, these include providers in the United States and in Asia, including China. Those providers process the text to answer the request under their own terms. We send only what the request needs, and we do not send your password, payment details or sign-in information.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that run Unbranch for us, under their own data protection terms, and when the law requires it:

DigitalOcean hosts the application and its database in Sydney, Australia. Cloudflare hosts this website, the documentation and the portal, and provides Turnstile, which checks for automated abuse on our forms. Resend delivers our emails and stores product-update subscriptions. Stripe processes payments. OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to process text for AI features. Google provides sign-in if you choose it.

Several of these providers are based in or process information in other countries, including the United States, and AI model providers can be in Asia, including China. By using Unbranch you understand that your information may be processed outside Australia, where privacy law may give different protection. We choose providers that commit to protecting the information they handle for us.

Your teammates see what you contribute to the projects you share, including your name, your answers to proposals and your place in the ledger. If a company or other business takes over Unbranch, your information may pass to it, and it will continue to be handled under this policy.

How we protect it

Information is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as hashes, access to production systems is limited to the people who run Unbranch, and sign-in supports a second factor. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and your team’s work while the account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except what we must keep by law, such as billing records. What you contributed to a team belongs to that team’s shared history and stays with the team. Copies in backups expire on their normal cycle. Product-update subscriptions stay until you unsubscribe; we then keep a suppression record so we do not subscribe you again without your agreement.

Your choices and rights

You can change your profile and disconnect connected AI tools on your Account page, and stop product updates with the unsubscribe link in any update email. You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or to delete your account, by emailing info@unbranch.ai. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to secure sign-in. The portal stores a few preferences, such as your last open project and your theme, in your browser. Turnstile checks your browser to tell people from bots on our forms. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics.

Children

Unbranch is for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your information, email info@unbranch.ai and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change and note the date above. For a significant change, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
